I’ve realised recently, that for me, race is everything. In everything I think or do, in some sort of way, my race is weaved in and out like a piece of thread holding a garment together.

So many people are quietly navigating this same route, afraid to admit that they’re not having “the time of their lives”, like everyone else seems to be having.

It was love-at-first-retro-handbag; I was aghast to find my favorite brands and designers for less than half price, as well as old label pieces that would finally see my wardrobe reflecting my inner 90’s Kate Moss (emphasis on inner - I am certainly no runway model).
So, the next time you rush to their comments to type “Girl, it’s okay, we still support you!” or “They could never make me hate you!” think about whether you’re really part of that “we” and who exactly you’re referring to when you say “they.”
