Hollywood’s Best Dressed: Golden Globes Edition

Hollywood’s Best Dressed: Golden Globes Edition

By Evie Allen-Jones

It is officially my favourite season, Awards Season! Over the next three months the red carpets will be rolled out, trophies polished and stylists running around with garment bags.

First up is the Golden Globes.

Zendaya

Despite not winning an award, Zendaya has been the most talked about star of the night. Her stylist Law Roach is first and foremost, a storyteller. For this custom Louis Vuitton dress, Law shared images of Diahann Caroll, Eartha Kitt, Dorothy Dandridge and Joyce Bryant as inspiration and homage to her 1950s-inspired look. The thread that tied all of these women together was Zelda Wynn Valdes, who was the first black person to own a store on Broadway in Manhattan. She was the creator behind all of these women’s gowns and was honoured by Law and Zendaya at the Globes. This was a beautiful story and history lesson from Law Roach, and the perfect time for Zendaya to announce her engagement to actor Tom Holland. No notes!

Angelina Jolie

Jolie wore the iconic closing look from Sean McGirr’s Spring 2025 show for McQueen. This chainmail look was styled perfectly with her pointed stilettos and half up half down hair. She definitely brought the drama, despite also missing out on the award.

Kylie Jenner

The most talked about plus one…maybe ever? Kylie Jenner stunned in an archival pull from Versace 1999. This look was an ode to Elizabeth Hurley, who too was once a very talked-about and beautiful plus one for her boyfriend Hugh Grant. I love this from Kylie, so fab!

Timothee Chalamet

The other half of…Kymothee? Timothee Chalamet continued to channel Bob Dylan, wearing Haider Ackerman. The actor and designer have worked together for a few years and always like to try different things. For this carpet, Timothee wore a long blue tie which swung over his shoulder almost like a scarf. Points for originality!

Ayo Edebri

Another attendee who dressed in an ode to a famous figure was Ayo Edebri, whose grey Loewe suit honoured actress Julia Roberts. Roberts wore a similar oversized grey suit to the 1990 Golden Globes where she won for her role in Steel Magnolia. Edebri’s suit incorporated the eccentricity of designer Jonathan Anderson with her long gold feather tie. She may not have won a Golden Globe to have as an accessory but she wore a red ‘Artists for Ceasefire' pin which was the perfect and honourable, finishing touch.

Demi Moore

Gold to the Golden Globes…groundbreaking! Demi Moore looked stunning in a custom dress by Giorgio Armani. The champagne silk gown was embellished with Swarovski crystals and maybe helped manifest her win!

Ariana Grande

Ariana continued to channel her Wicked alter ego Glinda with her pastel yellow 1966 Givenchy gown. While Glinda does wear a similar yellow in the stage show Wicked, I can’t help but point out the obvious. Givenchy was the fashion house of choice for actress Audrey Hepburn. She and designer Hubert Givenchy had a very close relationship throughout her life. I might be inclined to believe the internet rumours on this one, could Ariana be playing the actress in a biopic soon?

Colman Domingo

One of my favourites to see on the red carpet is always Colman Domingo! His perfectly tailored, yet eclectic style is always a breath of fresh air after so many men in boring black suits. This year he wore fresh of the runway Valentino, by Alessandro Michele. This bohemian pussy bow blouse brought a fun femininity to an otherwise simple suit.

Selena Gomez

Like many others of the evening, Selena Gomez channelled Old Hollywood Glamour. Her pale blue, off-the-shoulder, Prada dress was simple but elegant. It was perfectly styled alongside her short sleek bob, waved to emulate a 1950s starlet.

Mikey Madison

Whilst Mikey Madison didn’t walk away with a Gold trophy, she won by getting to be the final celebrity in Bottega Venetta by Matthieu Blazey (I’m still mourning the loss of him as Creative Director)! She wore a yellow gold fish-scale esc dress, which fit like a glove. My only nitpick is the silver jewellery, it is throwing me off.

Jeff Goldblum

My favourite male dressed of the night was definitely Jeff Goldblum. His turquoise Amiri suit from the Spring Summer 2025 collection was fabulously Ozian and channelled the Wizard perfectly! The bejewelled suit looked amazing on the carpet and later on the stage.

Anna Sawai

It takes a lot for me to like Dior these days, but Anna Sawai’s simple white gown was perfection. The white leather bustier was paired with a white satin wrap-around skirt, tailored to her very well. It may have been simple but looked amazing as she accepted her award for her role in Shōgun.

That concludes my Golden Globes 2025 Best Dressed! I can’t wait for more fabulous fashion moments this Awards Season.
