Valentine’s Day- Celebrating while Single

Valentine’s Day- Celebrating while Single

By Charlotte Town

With the day of love just around the corner, many are hurrying around the shops grabbing cards, chocolates and flowers. Others are hastily booking restaurants or searching for new recipes to impress their loved one and make the day perfect for their special someone; but what if this day rolls around and you still haven’t found ‘the ONE?’ Is the only answer vodka and Chaka Khan or can you celebrate Valentines a different way?

Galentine’s- The perfect play on words, encouraging you to spread the love by celebrating the female friendships in your life. Just because you’re single, does not mean love does not exist in your life. The friendships that stand the test of time are just as important as any relationship and deserve to be cherished and celebrated with the same sincerity. Dress up and have a girl’s night out, or slip into your lounge wear, bring some drinks and snacks around your besties house and have a cosy night of cheesy films and cocktail making. Trust me this is just as fun as date night! So, all the single ladies (thank you Beyoncé) don’t forget to show your girlies some love on the 14th.

Another way for singles to celebrate Valentines is practicing self-care. There is nothing wrong with spending Valentines on your own, it’s just another Friday after all. Put on a face mask, run a bath, get into your cosiest pjs and remember that self-love is the most important love of all.

Happy Valentines! xxx
